Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.
Slowing Down

Then: January 30 - February 5, 2017
I spent a couple of days in France and facilitated a workshop to help sell more chocolates.
I used to love holding space for creativity and collaboration to emerge. I haven’t done it in a long time—and I miss it!
I got back into my meditation routine, started exercising again, and treated myself to a Dermalogica facial. The delicious routine of my life in Dubai.
I’ve mentioned this before, but reconnecting with this period of my life for almost a year has been a gift on many levels. A gift of reconnecting with the sunshine, the people, my craft, my meditation. Tuning back into those parts of myself has helped me feel more energized—I’m sure of it.
Not much more to add this week.

Now: February 3 - 9, 2025
This week, I participated in my first Fire Circle with Emma, whom I met at a friend’s brunch last month. It was beautiful and heartwarming. The mix of characters was sublime—it reminded me of British movies where eclectic groups of friends come together, each with their own personality, from the local dad to the eccentric artist.
I was blown away by the kindness and warmth I received from everyone. I’m hoping to go to the next circle in March.
On Tuesday, I walked to the office and back—one hour each way. I just love this walk; it really sets me up in a good state of mind to approach the workday. In the evening, I attended my first playfulness workshop and met some really fun and lovely people. It was quite a long day!
Later in the week, I felt unwell and extremely tired. I even took a nap during the day and felt much better afterward.
Work has been rather quiet, but going well. I’m getting used to not feeling stressed—and it’s not as easy as it sounds. When you’ve spent most of your career conditioned to working under pressure, having a healthy relationship with work can feel… unnatural. So I’m learning to be okay with it. But every now and then, fear creeps in—this nagging belief that if I’m not constantly worried about losing my job, I will surely lose it.
I’m also really interested in developing my own business, though I’m not 100% clear on what it’s about yet—aside from selling my integration conversation cards.
I watched a YouTube video (from a French creator) discussing how the best way to learn is to immerse yourself in the right environment. So, I added myself to the waitlist for an entrepreneurial community, hoping to be inspired by other members.
I also made the decision to apply for UK citizenship. I even borrowed the Life in the UK Test handbook from the public library, but… let’s just say I haven’t made much progress on it yet.
My energy has been low, but I trust this too shall pass.
The fire told me it will. 🔥
