Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.

Beautifully Busy

Some super cool meetings at work this week—presenting some of our work at a summit and facilitating a workshop to develop a seasonal packaging catalog.
I kind of miss the days of facilitation. I mentioned that last week already. Maybe that’s my nudge to go back to it. In fact, two colleagues mentioned facilitation to me over the last week. Is that a sign? And if so, what is it telling me?
I went back to my meditation practice, which I’m super impressed about. Normally, after a trip that disrupts my routine, I’d completely fall out of my habits. Although… it looks like on Friday, I decided I was done with it! Let’s see if that’s still the case next week.
I love seeing my little drawings in my journal, especially the cats. Look at Friday—we’re watching Netflix together. So cute!
Sometimes, I miss the simpler days at work—having fewer responsibilities. Now, I’m in a global corporate role, which I love, but at times, I feel a little paralyzed by the sheer number of decisions I have to make. 😃 Facilitating conversations and letting the group form their own decisions feels much more natural to me.
Anyway, that’s it for this week of 2017!

Now: February 10 - 16, 2025

A beautifully busy week!
Just looking at the data—I went out for coffee or dinner after work three times, went to the office twice, and attended a sound bath on Friday. Over the weekend, I commuted an hour each way to learn about Shamanic extraction healing techniques.
A busy week that felt both exciting and exhausting.
At the start of the week, I was still riding the high from building my new website and preparing blog posts for it. I tend to experience creative highs—where I get into a hyper-focused, almost trance-like state—and then crash. I’m fully aware of this cycle while I’m in the high, but I still go along with it.
By Wednesday, I started feeling emotionally drained, and my brain just refused to cooperate. Meetings at work became word salad. I felt incredibly stupid, convinced that I wasn’t capable of working, that I had faked it until now. That my brain was just putting on a performance of work—that I could say anything in a meeting and it wouldn’t even matter. And honestly? Sometimes, that’s exactly how I feel.
After 20 years in corporate, I’ve become fluent in corporate jargon. It’s terrifying how much of my personality has adapted to this language. I’ve mastered the ability to say a lot without saying anything. Work meetings sometimes feel like watching the Sims talk to each other.
At the office, I ran into colleagues I hadn’t seen in a while, which I think contributed to my mood dipping. It reminded me of less enjoyable times in my career. Don’t get me wrong—the people are nice, but I blame the system. And, of course, myself. Always blame yourself first.
Energy-wise, this week was a challenge. A lesson in energy management—I may have overextended myself with too many social interactions. As much as I enjoyed all of them, I need to be more careful in the future.
The sound bath was a good reset before the weekend workshop with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, although I couldn’t completely relax and let go. It will come!
A Transformation Begins
This week, I decided it’s time for a transformation. A transformation of letting go of old, negative stories. I’ve identified with them for too long.
I’ve decided to surround myself with more people who inspire me.
It’s going to take time, but this is long overdue. I won’t succeed every day, but I will observe and adjust. I refuse to be the victim of my own sad stories. This is not what I want to be known for. Basta!
I also spend way too much time comparing myself to others and feeling sorry for myself for not being capable of what they do.
Time to stop complaining and start acting.
In fact, I took a scary step (for me) and offered free oracle card readings in my yoga WhatsApp group. Seven people signed up. I’m committing to developing my skills and practicing my intuition in service to others.
On Sunday, during the workshop, there was an opportunity to receive healing. I jumped at the opportunity, and I am so grateful to the student who performed an extraction healing on me. I’ve felt a huge shift in my energy ever since.
Now, it’s my job to maintain that positive energy and outlook.
Onward and upward! 🚀
