Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.

Here are some of the highlights of the week in Dubai 2016, packed with activities, thanks to the visit of my friend Fons:
  • A supermoon graced the sky on Monday. Little did I know back then that I would become a moon enthusiast by 2024!
  • The visit of a friend from the Netherlands (he’s very tall as you can see)
  • My daily beach meditation practice was getting really good, especially with my friend joining me. It made the sessions even more enjoyable.
  • I indulged in lots of bubble tea this week—the start of an addiction!
  • M&M’s characters visiting the office, a sweet visit!
  • I shared some fun moments with my friend at the Yoga Fest, including singing a mantra for the first time and giggling like teenagers, as we didn’t fully understand the significance of it all.
  • yes, I skied in Dubai once, and this was it! It was more fun than I expected, and I’m so glad my friend took me along. I remember having a bad day and feeling grumpy, but his patience and company turned it around. Bless him.
  • I visited the DUCTAC modern art fair and bumped into two friends. Running into people you know is a sign that you’re starting to settle into a new place. There’s nothing like that feeling of familiarity.
  • New pens: always a very important thing to report.

I’m amazed by the energy I had at that time. Now, as I write this on a Sunday evening in 2024, I barely made it to yoga this morning and couldn’t do much else for the rest of the day. I think this is a good nudge to get my health checked, as I don’t think this is normal…

Now: November 18-24, 2024

This week was packed with interactions, personal reflections, and creative exploration. Here are the highlights(note: this summary was partly generated by AI based on my voice-over):
  • Work and Connections:
    • Met with my manager, who asked if I was happy in my job. My honest response, “I don’t expect to be happy at work,” sparked mixed feelings but led to meaningful conversations.
    • My confidence, bolstered by recent shamanic healing, made interactions lighter and more authentic.
  • Synchronicities:
    • A chance encounter at Euston Station with Mark, someone I first met in 2017 in Prague, reminded me of life’s strange interconnectedness. This was our second serendipitous meeting in London.
  • Magical Moments with Friends:
    • Dinner with Amanda, a friend I met during a shamanism workshop, was highlighted by flickering lights, shared stories, and uncanny synchronicities (like discovering we both had food poisoning on the same day in October).
    • Spent a delightful afternoon foraging greenery with Vita in Islington, helping her craft a Christmas wreath—a grounding and joyful experience.
  • Therapy and Reflection:
    • A therapy session midweek brought up unexpected emotions, humbling me after starting the week with high confidence. It was a reminder to honor my tiredness and take things gently.
  • Creative Endeavors:
    • Created 12 memes of myself as a “fox priestess” using AI tools. The process was liberating, allowing me to channel creativity without overthinking or trying to impress.
    • A facial session with Maya included an Oracle card reading, which felt deeply resonant and reaffirmed my love for sharing intuitive practices.
  • Weekend Highlights:
    • Attended a concert by Ganavya at Love Supreme in Notting Hill. Her raw, authentic performance was moving and inspiring—a beautiful reminder to express myself fully and creatively.
  • Reflections on Energy:
    • Though this week felt full, comparing it to 2016’s hustle reminded me that honoring my current slower pace is essential. Creativity and rest often pave the way for something new to emerge.
