Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.

Here are some of the highlights of the week in Dubai 2016:
  • Continuing my meditation practice - wow, what a commitment, well done me!
  • On Tuesday I had my end-of-year performance evaluation. I commented “not my favorite thing”, and it’s still not my favorite to this day. The system often feels against dreamers and creators because the value we bring exists in the ethereal world while we operate in a dense, 3D reality. It hurts deeply because all the invisible work we do remains unrecognized, even though it’s the most profound, vulnerable, and selfless work. Ouch.
  • Trump won the US election, which was interesting because it also happened in 2024 while I’m documenting this work. It makes me wonder how much of my life in 2016 is repeating itself in 2024. Since 2016 laid the foundations for a huge life transformation for me in 2017 and 2018, I want to believe 2024 will do the same (and it actually started in 2023).
  • I won the “Best Dressed Female” award at work on “Green Day” with a fantastic dress from a shop I really liked at the outlet mall (though I can’t remember the brand). The high-quality, modest fashion garments were perfect. What exactly did I win? I don’t remember, but I found some pictures!
  • Wakeboarding like a rock start with friends on Friday (I found some pictures for this too)
  • Bubble tea extravaganza on Saturday and Sunday. Nothing beats the sugar high of bubble tea.
  • What I am noticing as well is three different catch-ups with friends, cheering on them with “you got this”, “Don’t worry be happy” and “Go girl” - is this the seed of the coach in me?

Now: November 11-17, 2024

In this week’s voice-over, I reflect on returning to cherished routines, navigating personal growth, and experiencing both challenges and synchronicities. Here are the highlights: (note: this summary was partly generated by AI based on my voice-over)
  • Return to Zumba: After a long hiatus (since April or May), I returned to my beloved Zumba class! It was heartwarming to reconnect with familiar faces and the joyful energy of the class, even if I need to learn new moves. Excited to be back in this rhythm as the days grow darker.
  • Health System Struggles: Visited the doctor and continued grappling with the complexities of navigating the healthcare system here in the UK. Reflecting on how helpful it would be to have someone guide me through appointments and referrals—a wish for future ease. Let me know if you know if this service exists!?
  • Journey to Cornwall: Spent a weekend in Cornwall, a first for me. While packing felt like a mental marathon, the trip was worth it. The long train journey flew by with good company, and we explored St. Ives, indulging in chips and my first taste of pea fritters (not a favorite, but an experience!).
  • Shamanic Healing Retreat: The weekend retreat was deeply transformative and emotionally intense, stirring old stories of rejection and shame. What stood out was how the universe seemed to counter these thoughts with real-world affirmations—beautifully illustrating the mysterious ways life works. For every negative thought, there was a corresponding positive interaction, proving these old narratives false.
  • Synchronicities Continue: My Oracle card streak, Befriend the Word Polarize, persisted, with the card appearing two more times this week, bringing the total to five times. The message continues to resonate, though its full meaning remains a mystery to unravel.
  • Gratitude: Reflecting on these experiences and the growth they bring, I’m filled with appreciation for these recordings and the opportunity to capture and share these moments.
Thank you for being here 💖

  • Check out this great show “Chicken Shop Date” for some awkward giggles. I remember seeing Amelia at a talk in 2018 in London 🙂, a very brilliant and focused creator.
