Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.

Mindful Journeys

Then: October 24-30, 2016

A lot happened this week, and I love the energy pulsing from this page.
A few highlights:
  • Starting a Consistent Meditation Practice: I began a regular meditation routine, enjoying the luxury of being able to walk to the beach before heading to work. How lucky am I!
  • Dubai Design Week: Always an inspiring event, I happened to see pictures of the 2024 edition this week on my friends’ Instagram. It’s amazing to witness the creativity and innovation showcased each year.
  • No CrossFit: It seems I skipped CrossFit this week. Maybe I was still recovering from my abs injury—I’m not sure.
  • Red Bull Cliff Diving Event: Happening right next to my building, the Red Bull Cliff Diving event was quite impressive to watch. The athletes’ skills and bravery were truly captivating.
  • Reflections on Couch Time: On Monday, I reflected that I might be spending too much time on the couch. And yes, I still have the same reflection today. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I can now see how this may have been due to executive dysfunction. I remember the pain of wanting to get up and do things but being unable to, leading to depressive episodes. I’m better now, but not completely out of it.

In this week’s voice memo, I talk about my journey of introspection and growth. After participating in a profound shamanic ceremony, I navigated feelings of loneliness and learned to lean into discomfort, embracing it as a vital part of the human experience. I discuss how messages from my spirit guides encouraged me to honor my creativity without holding back, leading me to record my first Instagram Reel to promote my Inner Pathways conversation cards.
I also share how embracing the concepts of “Fierce Serenity” and “Peaceful Authority” has helped me stand strong and grounded without dimming my passion. This week, I also started new rituals like daily shamanic journeying, oracle card readings, and a weekly visit at a local café for reading. Additionally, I took a bold step by deciding to attend another shamanic ceremony in Cornwall, pushing past my anxieties about traveling.
Join me as I reflect on these experiences and the insights they’ve brought, hoping they resonate with you and perhaps inspire your own journey.
