Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.

Another fun week filled with work, crossfit, food and friends. What’s new? A morning meditation practice at the beach before work and I re-started working on my book.
I love the chaos of this page with all the colors and stickers. Truly honoring my younger self for taking the time to document this special moment of my life so I could enjoy it again 8 years later.

Now: October 21-27, 2024

I came out of a tough weekend being sick from food poisoning, so I took it easy on Monday. I worked for 5 hours straight (yep, taking it easy, lol) and then had a nap in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, I spent a fair amount of time catching up with the blog, feeling some energy and motivation back in my veins. However, I still had a lot of anxiety and overall angst about being human. How am I supposed to work while the world is falling apart?
On Wednesday, I finally left the flat for the first time since Friday. I went to get some soup and a bubble tea—the bubble tea is my temporary portal to a calmer internal place. Very importantly, my tea smiled at me. It was the cutest thing and reconnected me to the Universe, giving me hope that better days are coming.
On Thursday, I started reading “The Power of Circles: A Guide to Building Peaceful, Just, and Productive Communities,” which I’ll probably quote in the future. I also attended my fourth vocal coaching session with the wonderful Sǎrka. I explored the overtone technique and felt quite overwhelmed by my overall lack of vocal training, but I’m sure I’ll manage to deal with that disappointment over time.
On Friday, I joined a powerful shamanic ceremony with my dear community of fellow journeyers. It was beautiful, enlightening, and profound. I think I unlocked new parts of myself—parts that aren’t new but rather ancient, waiting to be exposed. It’s up to me now to keep them in the outside world, fully expressed and actualized. The theme of “trust” came up a lot—trusting myself, trusting that I am supported, trusting, trusting, trusting. And honoring my creativity in all its expression, instead of minimizing my creations or making them small as if I was afraid to intimidate others because of them. I’ve learned that it is rude to do so. So, I shall explore the dial of my creative expression moving forward.
The weekend was tough, trying to land the spiritual insights by myself, but it was probably necessary to spend time in self-reflection.
A week that started with bodily sickness and mental health struggles ended with a degree of enlightenment. May there be more moments of enlightenment and self-actualization and fewer moments of struggle, please. Or may the struggles be fun to navigate and explore. Thank you.
