Welcome to the Human Prototype blog, a space where the past and present converge to showcase the evolution of a life in progress. Inspired by my TEDx talk, "I am a Prototype," this blog is part of a broader journey of transformation through journaling, capturing the essence of living as a perpetual prototype. Each week, during 2024, I reviewed my archives from 2016, contrasting journal scans filled with drawings against the backdrop of my current experiences.
Metamorphosis

Then: May 30- June 5, 2016
There are a couple of points I want to highlight:
HPC (High Performing Collaboration) with my team at work: I brought some improv warm-up games (such as Zip Zap Boing) to work. I remember trying to get a budget for an improv workshop with the team. Improv is such a great tool to embody and feel what collaboration is, beyond the HPC framework. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough budget for it.
Tom & Serge: This restaurant became my go-to place for working on my creative pursuits, like my book. I became a regular, having small talks with the staff. The food was great, and the vibe was perfect for my creative flow. I wish I had a similar spot nearby. It’s up to me to find it!
The rest of the week was filled with the usual CrossFit, some shopping, and shows (cinema and theatre). Seeing my consistency with CrossFit and writing my book reminds me of how discipline is such a powerful instrument. That’s why showing up here every week is important to me. Even if I’m not feeling particularly inspired or if I feel like I don’t have much to share, this is a project of consistency and discipline above perfection and performance. The performance is in showing up every week no matter what.
Now: May 27- June 2, 2024
It continues to be difficult emotionally. I know things are not improving when I stop responding to messages and reaching out to friends. Seven days without having a real-life conversation with a friend, family member, or anyone for that matter. I feel excluded, like I can’t connect with anyone, like I’m not worth taking up anyone’s space. I expect to be told off, not heard, or called stupid. I noticed this happening a couple of times this week at work. It just reinforces the idea that you attract what you’re thinking about. If I’m feeling disconnected, that’s what I attract.
It sucks to be in that space, but since I can see the pattern, it’s now my choice to stay in it or create a new reality.
I am reading "Women Who Run with the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. As I was going through the second chapter today, I got some insights into why I may be so depleted energetically and troubled emotionally. It could be a lack of inspiration and creativity. I’ve been relying too much on my work to provide those. I want to create new habits to fulfill my creative needs outside of my 9 to 5. I’ve been thinking about starting a course—I need to explore that more. It would be nice to do something with people in the real world.

In other news, I’ve delivered the custom illustration for one of my clients, and she was very happy. It was a great project to work on. She wanted her wedding picture transformed in the style of a vintage Transport for London poster. I’ve put a picture here so you can see. My other client hasn’t responded to my last email from ten days ago, so yesterday I created four options for them and delivered them all today. Let’s see.
I’ve watched a few videos over the last days about June’s astrological events and energy. The main theme seems to be about big transformation/change coming. I’ve linked Lee Harris’ June Energy Update below in case you’re interested. And funnily enough, this morning I picked an oracle card for guidance and got “Lead Your Metamorphosis.” I’ll share the key messages here as you might benefit from it too:
Essential meanings: Freedom, transformation, and evolution, on the edge of something miraculous, the relationship between inner and outer beauty, trust, cycles of death and rebirth, a massive breakthrough.
Self-care message: Hiding, staying small, staying where you feel comfortable.
Metamorphosis. Change. Yup, it's that time again. And this change is going to be transformational! It's time to leave the dark cocoon behind, to break out of your shell, and to show off those gorgeous wings you've been readying. You are, in every sense, sitting in your own control tower. You can plot your flight through life, and you get to decide how far you go and how great you become! This complete transformation is required to flourish, manifest, and attract the new things you are seeking. Are you ready to test those wings? What transformation is waiting to happen within? Who are you becoming today? What breakthrough is on the horizon? After a period of cocooning, how will you emerge?
Does any of this resonate with you?
Okay, so that’s it for me this week. Ah, no wait. I forgot to mention that I have finished watching the nine seasons of "Suits." That’s 134 episodes, or about 90 hours of my time…it’s embarrassing, but I fully own it. I loved watching it with a new perspective: recognizing Donna’s intuition as a distinctive asset to the firm and seeing Louis's emotional growth while being accepted by his team for who he is has been healing!
Be well, dear one, be well.
